OFFICIAL TRAILER
Lagger is a 2D top-down exploration and survival game where players face the challenge of gathering resources and overcoming obstacles to escape a desolate planet. The game combines elements of strategy, resource management, and unique gameplay mechanics that test your creativity and decision-making.
Story
After a catastrophic forced landing on an unknown planet, you, the player, must take control of a rover to gather resources and repair your lander. The ultimate goal? To power up your ship and embark on a journey to a new, habitable planet. However, the harsh conditions of this alien world and the distance between your rover and lander add layers of complexity to your mission.
Core Gameplay Mechanics
1. Resource Collection:
Use your rover to explore the planet, mine for essential resources, and scavenge materials scattered across the terrain. Different areas offer unique resources, but they may also come with hidden dangers.
2. Command Delay System:
As the distance between the rover and the lander increases, the communication delay grows. This innovative mechanic forces players to plan movements carefully, as commands to the rover may take longer to execute in real time.
3. Survival Challenges:
Navigate environmental hazards like rough terrain, extreme weather conditions, and limited power for your rover. You’ll also need to manage your lander’s systems to avoid critical failures.
4. Repairs and Upgrades:
Gather resources to craft upgrades for your rover, such as improved communication systems to reduce lag or stronger tools to mine rare materials. Additionally, you’ll need to repair the lander to prepare for takeoff.
5. Mini-Games and Problem Solving:
Encounter system malfunctions on your rover and lander, requiring you to solve puzzles or complete mini-games to restore functionality.
Objective
Your main objective is to gather enough resources to repair the lander and escape the planet. Along the way, you’ll need to strategize and adapt to the challenges posed by the environment and the unique lag mechanics. Success depends on how well you manage your resources, mitigate risks, and balance exploration with survival.
